Can a New Cancer Treatment Be a Cure

As per the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), more than 21 million people shall be the victims of cancer by 2030. It is a fact that one cannot run away from this medical condition even in today’s high-tech world. The condition can hit anyone regardless of the age, caste, gender, and social background. It can hit even if one is living a healthy lifestyle. However, the good news is that there are  ways to cure it just like there are many ways to cause it like being a smoker. Therefore the question is, can lung cancer be cured or will a cure for lung cancer ever be found?

There was a time when cancer was not curable. This was mainly because of lack of research and trials saying that cure for cancer found. However, today, a few natural and medical remedies have been found that are now proving to cure cancer. Thus, regardless of what you know, is it possible that a cure for cancer has been found when a new cancer treatment is utilized.

People believe that cancer is incurable due to conclusions and impositions of mainstream medicines keeping all away from the natural and new treatments. However, the reason why cancer has been referred to as a gateway to death is the death of too many people due to lack of research on cures.

Well, cancer has its cure. After all, each problem has its solution and a solution is always born first. Countless people are now free of cancer without any medical intervention, surgery, radiation, or chemo.

The Truth of Death Due to Cancer
The fact is that nobody dies due to cancer. When someone dies because of a specific type of cancer, the actual cause of death is not the disease but the severely weakened immune system. Low immunity makes the body powerless due to which it fails to fight against harmful viruses and other pathogens.

If the immunity power is strong, it is impossible to die despite having cancer. Moreover, each human body has cancer cells. It is low immunity that results in growth and expansion of these cells, which in turn, reduces the immunity level further. No cancer cell multiplies on its own, the combination of favorable circumstances results in its multiplication. A major circumstance here is a weak immune system.

Thus, the first line of defense is to retain a strong immune system. Well, there are many alternative healers that have proven to do so to such an extent that even the about-to-die patients are freed from cancer completely. This is exactly what you can also expect from a new cancer treatment.

Is Cure for Cancer Found?
Well, the answer is “Yes”! Recently, some new treatments are found that claim to cure the disease. They have already cured cancer of some patients, including children. Let’s take a look at some of the new cures for cancer.

Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) Therapy
An upcoming new cancer treatment is CAR-T that works by re-engineering the T-cells. This re-engineering is likely to destroy cancer cells. In the process, these cells are gathered from a patient, altered at a controlled facility, and are instilled into the body of that patient. The alteration is such that the T-cells gain the capability of recognizing a protein called CD19, which is articulated in B-cell cancers.

After infusion, the modified cells expand exponentially and start searching for the protein. This protein is present on some specific type of white blood cells and is a contributor to disorders such as lymphoma and leukemia. The processing time for developing these cells is around 22 days, as per the makers who are Novartis officials.
The FDA’s oncology committee has considered this therapy for assessing its efficacy and safety as a new cancer treatment. The members were impressed after testing it. Although they agreed of some safety risks such as neurotoxicity, they also accepted that they are manageable and the efficacy outweighs them. These effects are not as debilitating as those of chemo and radiation therapies are. However, this cell therapy, if approved by FDA, is likely to be costly.

Molecular Therapy
Another new cancer treatment is the molecular therapy. It constitutes of medications formulated at the cell’s molecular level so that it can target, attack, and eradicate only cancer cells that are the cause of a specific kind of cancer. These drugs are custom made to identify particular molecules that are distinct to some types of cancers.

Promoting itself with the title of cure for cancer found, a leading form of this drug is Glivec that fights a rare type of cancer called chronic myeloid leukemia. Extreme production of white blood cells is the major symptom of this type of cancer. The drug is right now under review at priority with the FDA.

However, it is likely to have limited applicability for treating a myriad of tumors. This is because of its inherent nature of targeting a small set of molecules.
Platelets Therapy
Conducted in early 2017, a study came up with a new cancer treatment that involves engineering blood platelets. The purpose of this engineering is to provide an immunotherapy drug that is likely to eradicate cancer cells that a surgery may have missed as well as keep formation of new tumors at bay. In this study, the platelets that heal clots and wounds were associated chemically with an immune checkpoint inhibitor. This kind of immunotherapy removes constraints on the immune response that reverses cancer growth.

The study was performed on mice having breast cancer and melanoma but were treated with surgery. It was found that the engineered platelets alleviated tumor regrowth. However, the study was successful only in mice although the team believes that this therapy can have fewer side effects than the conventional immunotherapy.

Macrophage Antibody Therapy
Macrophages, a form of white blood cells, are found to be capable of overcoming as well as terminating cancer cells. As per its research group, an antibody that interacts with some protein existing on macrophages can eliminate can cells. It does so by activating the macrophage. This breakthrough is likely to be the base of upcoming cancer treatments.
